Jadyens Farming Blog

Some of our students have been hard at work during the holidays - School in New Zealand is on our break between Term 1 and Term 2 and our students will be returning to School on Monday 2nd May to start the new school term.

Jayden has been busy publishing work on his entry for the 2016 MOA Kluster Blog - related to farming.  He's been producing some interesting work - this video is a series of images, some of which have been time lapsed that focus on a milking session at his families cow shed -

He's also been documenting some of the other activities that are taking place on the farm. You can click on the link here to visit his student page here.

Auroa Primary School Visits Lake Rotokare

This year we have a staff member, Mrs Derbyshire who is on leave for six months working as a Scientist.  She is working at the Lake Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust.  You can read about the work that she is doing on her teacher blog which is located here.

On Wednesday, the last week of School, we had the opportunity to send a group of students to Lake Rotokare for a day trip to look at the work that was being completed and to take part in some hands on Science learning.  Since then a number of students who were involved on that trip have produced recounts and reports about what they did.

You can read Jorja's recount all about her trip to Lake Rotokare here.   You can also read all about it from Madaline's perspective by clicking on this link here.

Keys to My Life Student Blog

We are always looking for amazing connections and work from classrooms around the world.   One of our biggest supporters and a teacher that Mr Webb thinks is pretty amazing is Mrs Yollis who is from Califorina, USA.   She is the best blogger in the entire world.

Today in class we found out about a new student blog from one of Mrs Yollis students, 'Smiley'.  Who has started a new student blog called 'Keys to My Life'.   We spent time this morning as a class looking at the blog, thinking about the information that was posted on it and comparing the answers and the questions to our students in New Zealand.

We loved the fact that the word 'plethora' was used on the page which was a word we talked about class, what the word meant and how we'd be able to use it.  You can visit the student blog here and Mrs Yollis class page is here.

DPE - Food Technology

At Auroa Primary School the School has in the past two years taken responsibility for its own Technology program. This year we are very excited with the opening of the School Kitchen in what was the old library/room five. Having such a great set up is awesome for our senior students for DPE but also for our entire school who are able to use the facilities when the Technology is not on. This video was created, filmed, edited and published by students in Room Three on Friday 1st April 2016.
