Taranaki Survivor: 2016 Grand Final!

It all comes down to this - after a year of competition, twenty students competing against each other first in two rival teams and then as one group.   Eliminating each other one by one, with twists and turns aplenty.   Today - the Grand Final with the last three competitors, Beth and Joe from the original Kikorangi tribe and the wildcard - Jamesen... one competitor was about to triumph and advance to the finals, then they would have a crucial decision to make, who would they take with them?

Whose game would continue and who would suffer the agony of coming as close as possible without having a chance of winning...

Due to weather conditions this challenge was an ultimate block stacking challenge - Joe has never been defeated and was going against two competitors who had never won challenges with blocks - surely a great advantage? While there were not any more immunity idols around there was one last piece of the puzzle lurking around - the Super Immunity Idol could come into play following the final vote.  Had it been located? Did someone hold ultimate power going into the final challenge... all sorts of claims and rumours had been made - now was the last chance to put up or exit the game...

This is the final challenge ever for Taranaki Survivor and someone was about to go out with a bang.  In two years of competition there have been some unbelievable finishes, and its not an exaggeration to say that this was the most amazing of all - with a huge final twist that would have a massive bearing on the 2016 competition!  All will be revealed before the huge Friday Grand Final Vote!

Whose made it through to the final? Who will the jury have a choice between? Whose sought redemption and whose come up short, the answers to these pressing questions lie in the video below the 2016 Grand Final for Taranaki Surivivor!

Taranaki Survivor: 2016 - Seven Days to Go...

The greatest online blogging students competition of all time has only seven days left to run...

In the next week there will be three more episodes culminating in the grand final next week.  

There are currently only five contestants remaining, two each from the original Whero tribe Durann and Astin, two from the original Kikorangi Joe and Bethany and the wildcard - Jamesen.

During the next week four of these players have to fall - three to elimination and one will come as near as possible without being able to win the final vote... many questions still remain unanswered... where are the missing immunity idols? Will the 'alliance' of Room One students remain in place? Has the fabled 'Super' Immunity Idol been located? What blindsides are still to come? Someone is poised for a major move - have they left their run too late? Who is the person who is lurking in the background with a huge amount of power - coiled ready to strike? 

It would appear that the remaining route to the final is straight forward and that means nothing is ever as it seems in Taranaki Survivor! There are twists and turns aplenty just around the corner...

Can Jamesen the wildcard pull off the greatest triumph of all? Can Joe emulate his brother and win the grand final? Beth is the only Girl left in the competition and last year left after receiving only a single vote - can she pull off a major reversal of fortune? Both Astin and Durann were part of the 'Whero' team that lost six episode challenges in a row are they about to pull back a victory of epic proportions? 

In the end only one player from the remaining five can ultimately triumph and join the elite of challenges who have defeated all comers and are the sole survivors... and in seven days all will be revealed...

Taranaki Survivor: Episode Seven

Its been a while since there was an episode due to a variety of circumstances but the greatest internet competition of all time returns with a blockbuster episode of dynamic proportions!

Since last episodes the two competing teams of Whero and Kikorangi were closely poised, however there was a huge swing in progress. Early in the year various 'power ups' or add on's were hidden in secret locations around Auroa Primary School, one of which was the dreaded 'double elimination'. This was played before the vote so the losing team would suffer a shock double elimination.

Furthermore a surprise immunity was discovered by one player in the challenge, further complicating the vote. One team was about to take a stranglehold on the competition and one team was facing the bleak prospect of total elimination. The merge of the two teams is fast approaching and players are desperate to make it to the last stage of competition - two players are about to fall at the nearly last hurdle. Who will pull it together and make it? Whose problem solving and teamwork will lead them to victory? All these questions will be answered in Episode of the greatest internet classroom blogging competition of all time!

In this challenge students had to race to 'four corners' of Auroa Primary School collecting a series of letters. They had to race back to a central location, bring the letters to their team and then unscramble an eight letter word. Both teams were racing against each other to complete the task, secure victory and avoid an elimination vote.

Taranaki Survivor: Episode Six

Its the greatest online student blogging competition of all time... two teams competing against each other in a series of challenges to determine one ultimate winner. Kikorangi vs. Whero - student vs. student - friend against enemy. 

In this episode students had to carry water in a cup along a course over chairs, under tables and racing up a hill to deposit their water in a container held by their team mates.  To make it more challenging students from the other team were on the course throwing objects at the contestants in an effort to put them off and cause the contents of their cup to spill.   Kikorangi were on something of a comeback having won episode five and behind only 3-2. Could they even the scores and force another elimination?

This episode saw the first 'Immunity Idol' play of the 2016 season, one contestant fearing that their game was coming to an end made a decision to play an immunity idol which they had spent time  reading clues and searching for which was located in the school, giving them immunity from the vote.

Was it played at the right time? Would it ensure safety? Whose game would come to an end? All these pressing questions would be answered in Episode Six of Taranaki Survivor as another players game ends in a shock elimination... who will join the previous five eliminated contestants and who is one step closer towards triumph -

Taranaki Survivor: Cast Announcement: Jorja

Another player from the 2015 season has just been confirmed for 2016 - adding to a cast now fast approaching completion. Jorja last year took several bold steps in the game and brings problem solving and teamwork as a strength to the game. Renee has also been added to the 2016 season - this means that there is only nine spots left; which will be filled tomorrow. Who will arrive at the last minute? How will the teams look? Who has worked together before and might be able to work together again? How will last years game play and experience shake how this years competition goes? Are there scores to settle? Its the greatest internet classroom competition game of all time - with an incredible prize on offer... this is going to be the most amazing adveture...

Taranaki Survivor 2016: Cast Announcements

Two further contestants have put their hand up to be contestants in the 2016 season of Taranaki Survivor. Already confirmed for this coming season are Natalie, Caro and Ebony. Today we can confirm two more contestants for this coming competition - the first is Jayden, who was the very first contestant to exit last years series. The second is the first contestant confirmed from Room Three for this year Regan. There is still time to confirm your entry into the 2016 competition; you need to email or Google Drive share it to Mr Webb as soon as possible. This is Jayden effort:

This competition is already shaping up to be the most dramatic ever. The prize will be the biggest single prize in the history of the online internet classroom competitions. Last years competition has gone down in history as one of the most intense ever with a following from around the world and unparalleled viewing figures... 2016 season will be history in the making and there is still a chance to compete... but be quick soon the slots will be filled...

Taranaki Survivor 2016: The Big Announcement

Today at assembly the format for the 2016 season of Survivor:Taranaki was announced.  The competition is coming back for 2016 but there's a twist - no longer will it be a Room Three only competition, this year the competition will run across the entire senior school.  The competition audition process is now open.

If your a returning contestant who wants a second chance or if you a new player convinced that you have what it takes - you both have the same task.

Create a short 30 to 45 second video explaining why you deserve to have a place in the 2016 competition and email it to Mr Webb.  Mr Webb, Mr Bloor and Mr Chittenden are going to select the best ones and this is how the contestants for this year will be selected.  We will be announcing the cast during the rest of the term, with the final teams and the first episode at the end of this term.
The big questions are:
Will Caro attempt to make it back for 2016? She made it all the way to the final in the 2015 competition and then chose to take Harry with her to the final.  Will she be back again to try and go better? Will Harry attempt the impossible and go back to back as a double champion?

Who will come into the competition? Who else from last years season will seek redemption? Look to settle old scores? What alliances will be reconnected? What alliances will fall apart? Will old team mates from Whero or Kikorangi will work together again?

All these questions will be answered as we repeat the never again to be repeated series of the greatest internet classroom competition of all time.

In our flash-back for the 2015 season this episode was entitled 'Knock Me Down' which was episode eight.  In this the two competing teams were joined by a third team created from the eliminated players 'The Exiles".  This episode was significant because it featured the first idol play of 2015 when Gypsy protected Mackenna and caused the elimination of Bethany.   And to make it more exciting the first idol for 2016 is in place already and the clues to its location are already in place - however why would it be in place without a competitor named?
