And so it ends... the final installment of Taranaki Survivor. In the previous episode Bethany won final immunity and choose to eliminate Jamesen, however there was the issue of the super-immunity idol - if it had been found, and if Jamesen had located it first then not only would he revive himself it would be Jamesen who would determine who would make the final...
Jamesen had found the super immunity idol - just before Joe did and after Bethany double crossed him he choose in a difficult decision to take Bethany to the final two with him.
All that remained was the jury vote - this year it was a seven member jury who voted one after another. Four votes would secure the 2016 Taranaki Survivor Title and the Grand Prize!
Who would win? Bethany was unfortunate to exit the 2015 competition after a immunity idol vote - was this her chance to claim a overdue victory? She'd been involved in some key blindsides and double crosses to make her way to the final, and was the final female competitor surviving in competition since way back in episode ten!, She had friends on the jury, would those that she targeted forgive her? Would she be able to continue the momentum and had Jamesen made a huge mistake in choosing her for the final?
What of Jamesen - the MVP of this years competition, no-one was actively working behind the scenes to locate immunity idols and protection, including one stage where Jamesen had located the Super Immunity idol and had two other idols in his possession! Jamesen had a hand in the destruction of the Room One alliance but also claimed ownership of immunity and other power ups and advantages, some of which were based on fact and some of which were brilliant acting. Would the jury recognise his unorthodox and strategic play?
There's only one winner in the greatest internet student blogging competition of all time and the only way you can find out this years result is by watching the video!

Taranaki Survivor: Episode 16
The final is but three days away - however the final four had one more adventure before three would be able to continue on. The greatest classroom blogging competition is about to end, never, ever to be repeated!
Last episode saw a shock double cross when Joe sided with Bethany and Jamesen to eliminate Astin - who would follow next? Durann had an advantage purchased at the auction - would it help him triumph? Would the new power trio stick together or was another flip on the cards?
This was the last episode that a regular immunity idol could be played before the final, has someone got a trick up their sleeve? The Super-Immunity idol has had numerous clues to its whereabouts was someone about to come back from the depths of despair? Who is going to fail to make it into the grand final? Whose competition is about to come tumbling down?
Nothing is as it seems when it comes to this season - and yet all the answers will soon be obvious! Once this episode has been published the final three will be revealed - who has made it to the last hurdle?
Survivor16 from myles webb on Vimeo.
In this episode the contestants had the hardest challenge yet - four cryptic clues that led to four locations around Auroa School - there was a further question at each of the four locations, this question when answered right gave the students a combination to a padlock - four correct answers would unlock the change and then guarantee that contestant the right of immunity... someone was about to unlock their way to the final three and someone was going home...
Who will make up this years grand final?
Bethany - one of the strongest players last year looking to make it to the final after suffering the disappointment of an immunity idol play and exiting last year with a single vote...
Joe - the last senior school student left, brother to the grand final winner from last year - is he about to step out of the shadows from Harry's 2015 triumph?
Jamesen - the wildcard - perhaps the most underestimated player in the game, mixing brilliant game play with breath taking risk taking, not many would have predicted that he would be waiting in the wings and looking towards making his first grand final...
Durann - the final player left from the original 'Whero' tribe - is his time finally up?

Taranaki Survivor: Episode 14
The greatest internet classroom blogging competition of all time is drawing to a conclusion... it started in April... twenty competitors this week the final five contestants are revealed...
whose game was about to end... who would make it through a step closer towards the grand final...
In a shocking twist this challenge was filmed straight after the vote from the previous episode- this meant the teams had not chance to converse or plan who to vote for, who could be trusted? Would the group of students from Room One stick together again?
What of the immunity idols? Where are they? Has the super immunity idol, the fabled horse of power, been located? Someone is playing their cards close to their chest - will it be revealed this episode? Who is the person who is secretly hiding power waiting until the moment they strike? Someone is biding their time until a move is made - will it be too late? Has the moment passed or is the biggest blindside in the game just about to happen... Someone is smiling - will it turn to a frown this episode?
Is another blind-side on the cards? Who would YOU trust? All these answers and some more are about to be answered in Episode 14 of the Greatest Classroom Blog Challenge of All time!
All competitors had to do this week was stack ten blocks end on end - in twenty five seconds, of course it sounds easy but everyone was desperate for immunity to advance to the next round. No-one wanted to go home and someone was about to have to.

Kikorangi have been dominating the competition recently, reducing Whero to only three members - can they regain the initiative or are they about to be on the brink of elimination. Ebony has played immunity idols in two consecutive episodes - will she do so again? Will another 'power-up' be played? Its time for big manoeuvres, key power plays and a last gasp attempt at making the final tribe. Who will succeed? Who will fail - all these questions are about to be answered in the greatest blogging competition of all time: TARANAKI SURVIVOR!
Please note: due to wind conditions during this challenge please be careful with the audio play back of this episode!

Taranaki Survivor: Episode 8
The greatest student internet blogging competition of all time... with the most unexpected elimination so far... a shock result that would send one of the red hot favourites for the 2016 season out.
Two teams of students competing against each other in a series of challenge to determine one survivor the ultimate champion. Competition started in March and filming is scheduled to wrap in December when one challenger will stand having defeated all others!
Taranaki Survivor: Episode 8 from myles webb on Vimeo.
In this challenge the premise was simple - both teams had three minutes to stack as many blocks as possible in a "Tower of Doom'. Both teams had a choice of working co-operatively or letting others in the group take the lead. Whero were desperate to wrestle control of the game back from Kikorangi having seen their early domination disappear. Whero's challenge was led by Astin who created and maintained a twelve block tower. While this might have been impressive Kikiroangi had Jordan who was able to significantly better the mark with 15.
The vote last episode had been affected by an immunity idol being played - would this be repeated? Which of the four remaining Whero players would be next to leave the game? With the merge only a short time away and players looking to make it a dream finish whose game was about to turn into a nightmare? The amazing competition was about to take another turn that no-one could expect with a shock elimination of a leading contender for the 2016 title... all will be revealed...

Taranaki Survivor: Episode Five
Its the fifth episode of the episodic adventure game Taranaki Survivor.
In this challenge the students had to catch one of two balls thrown or kicked into an area by one member of their team. Each member who was able to catch one of the thrown objects on the 'full' received a point for their team, or three if they were able to catch a long 'punt'.

Whero were looking to continue their dominance of the game.. a merge is on the cards at some point and in both teams there are players looking to make it through to the next stage of competition. While none of the players know when the merge is one thing for certain is that at the end of this episode one more player won't make it that far... but will an immunity idol come into play - what of the mysterious powers that various players have managed to gain at this point? who is the player who has gained control of the first immunity idol? when will it make an appearance? will the 'redemption idol' make an appearance bringing another player back into the game? All these questions are waiting to be answered and some will be answered in this episode of Taranaki Survivor!

Taranaki Survivor: Episode Four
The greatest classroom internet competition of all time - two teams of nine students competing against each other in a series of challenges to find the ultimate winner.
Having battle through three episodes - with Kikorangi losing first, for Caro's elimination and then Ashley in episode two, they had gained some momentum back forcing Whero to lose Aroha in episode three. This meant this episode was potentially crucial - with either a 2:2 tie going forward or a huge 3:1 advantage.
This episode saw the contestants competing against each other in the 'Tower of Doom'. A simple premise - eight blocks stacked end on end on end and then an elimination block placed on top. However nerves meant a simple task took on an added edge for the contestants.
Taranaki Survivor Episode 4 from myles webb on Vimeo.
However the stakes were high as was the twist - losing team members would only vote if they won their respective duels, meaning potentially only one vote would send someone home.
This episode featured a dramatic finish in the final duel that has to be seen to be believed! Who would move forward in the game? Whose time would be up in the vote that followed? What of the immunity idols - it has been revealed that at least one has been located by a player however their identity has so far remained secret - would these come into play? Whose game is about to end and whose moving one step forward in the greatest internet competition of all time! All the answers are contained in the latest episode just released!

Taranaki Survivor - Episode Three
The contestants had a question to ponder this week... who was the first (alphabetically) based on their surname and who is the last (alphabetically). How well do the students know their classmates and school mates?
With two hundred students at Auroa Primary School the tasks wasn't as easy as it seems... with both teams working together against each other in the same room... communication could be crucial...
Kikorangi had lost two consecutive challenges... but one team was about to make an epic mistake that would cost them the game... already one of the best performers from last years season had been eliminated in a shock upset - was another on the cards?
All that is certain is that someone's game was about to end as the third episode of Survivor Taranaki meant there were now only fifteen of the original players remaining... all these pressing questions will be answered in the greatest student blogging internet competition game of all time...

Taranaki Survivor: Episode 2
The second episode of the 2016 season of the greatest online student blogging competition of all time. Two teams of nine students competing in an epic competition against each other where one will be the ultimate survivor and defeat all others to claim the title of greatest survivor!
After last weeks shock elimination of the 2015 Runner Up Caro no-one felt safe moving into the challenge. Whero and Kikorangi had to battle against each other by showing teamwork. They had five hoops and four chairs and had to be the first to complete a course gaining themselves the immunity donkey. Anyone who stepped out of the course and touched the ground would cause their team to receive a one minute penalty - while its still early days in the competition last weeks episode proved the no-one is safe: whose team work will lead them to victory? who would work together better as a team? would an immunity idol be played? whose game would come to an end and be the second player eliminated from the competition?
All these questions will be answered in the second episode of Taranaki Survivor - the greatest classroom blogging competition of all time!

Taranaki Survivor 2016: He's back...
Arguably the most untrustworthy player ever to play the game... last season if there was a point when it went all downhill, where the 'Outwit... Outsmart and Outplay...' part of the game took hold... Kikorangi had two leaders who were working together to build a team based - until episode five... just confirmed today... back for the 2016 season and a second chance at glory or a second chance at infamy... in the greatest internet classroom show of all time!
Rico instigated a removal of the other co-leader the first chance that he got. Siobhan hadn't put a foot wrong and done everything write for her team... but for Rico it wasn't enough....
He's yet another returning player now confirmed for the 2016 season.
With an oversea's fan club (true!) he's talented and devious - truly one of the most dangerous players around. Can he improve on his 2015 effort? Which if the teams will he end up in?
There's but two days for contestants to have their application videos in before the final selection is made!
Already confirmed for the 2016 season are Natalie, Ebony, Caro, Jayden and Regan. Confirmed officially today are Rico to be joined by Aroha and Ashley. That leaves only 11 spots up for grabs for potential contestants - which means that some of last years group will miss out... will Harry step up and come back? Will Bethany the most unlucky player from last season whose game was ended by a single vote try again? Who is still to apply

Tarnaki Survivor Contestant Announcement: Caro/Ebony
Last year in the 2015 season of the classroom internet competition two compeditors engaged in an epic battle against each other. During the course of twenty episodes only two players avoided elimination despite their best efforts to eliminate each other. Online blog polls predicted that they would both be in the final and after an epic confrontation and battle that proved to be the case.
The final vote was eventually won by Harry, with Caro claiming second place. No-one more immunity challenges than Caro but also no-one was involved in more blind sides or big moves. Last year she came as close as possible to winning the competition without managing the cross the finish line. This year she will be aiming to go one better. Our second confirmed 2016 cast member: Caro.
Caro's Taranaki Survivor Audition Video from myles webb on Vimeo.
Then there's this audition tape that came in from someone else who took part in 2016. Ebony was one of the contestants who was eliminated early, located an immunity idol and made it back into the game. She exited for a second time just before the semi-finals. How will she progress in 2016? Can she do better than before? Regardless of this its an amazing application video and she will be contestant number three...

Coming Soon...
Last year we had a classroom competition in Room Three, based around the TV Show Survivor which ran during Term Three and Four. This year we've decided to bring the competition back for 2016. There will be an announcement made at assembly on Friday about the show and how students could possible participate. If you want to view any of the episodes from last year you can see them on the 'Survivor: Taranaki' tab on our blog. This promo is for the new season which will start later in the year. This was created by using iMovie and the trailer option.
