Cyclone Gita Recount

Cyclone Crazy

My hair was blowing everywhere we were slowly walking to the house , I didn’t speak at all as it was so windy.

“Wow!” I said as we stepped through the door. Grandad looked at the window and grabbed the phone soon my whole family ( my uncle and aunty ,my parents and my cousin) had arrived and were pushing down the tree outside. Apparently the tree could blow onto Grandad’s house. After that we had dinner with Sonya and her Husband .

Then all of a sudden, I heard a shout “ Guys come look!” It was Mario , he was pointing out the window at something. I pushed through the Adults and saw the Palm Kernel trailer rolling through the paddock. Dad rushed outside and drove them out. Nervous that they were going to knock out a Cow!

After dinner Me and Mario were in bed while Dad was outside pushing a tree off the road and Mum was outside with the hazard lights. It was definitely Cyclone Crazy!

R3 The Fire on Rama Road

Tonight when I went to bed my Mum got a text saying that there is a fire on the corner of Rama Road, Dad got a call saying that “can you please get the fire tanker”, Dad popped out of his chair and said oh no I have to go and get the Royal fire truck, Mum said for me to go and get the girls I ran as fast as I could to get the girls I said we are going to look at the fire on the corner of Rama Road and I asked Mum can I please get my iPad to take some photos of the fire so we jumped into the car and went to take a bit of photos. Mum called our Aunty and uncle and asked if they would like to come and watch the fire go down. My Auntie and my Uncle turned up and the fire was nearly gone so we went home and got some cake but Alyssa,Lara and I played on our iPads for a little bit. Then we said I bet you that Dad will be there by now and mum said that they might be there all night so we might not even see dad till the morning and he might not go to work he might have the day off.

"Flour, check. Eggs, check" said Aunty Paula as she grabbed those items. "This will taste so good!" I screamed as Aunty Paula put the ingredients in the bowl.

We begin to mix the ingredients together. "Ew! What is that?" I yelled. "It's just the cookie before it takes its shape." Aunty Paula said as she started shaping them into small balls. Soon she will finish, and that means they can go into the oven.

Aunty Paula closed the oven then said "you can either stare at that oven for 10 minutes or you could help me make the next batch of these cookies. "I'd much rather stare at this" I joked as I started helping.

After what seemed like YEARS, they finally were ready. I glared at them. "What's wrong?' Aunty Paula asked. "Well, they look... Different!" I replied. "That's because they have made their shape" she replied. Well then, I can't wait to eat them!

After about 2 cookies, I began to think. "There is probably only 1 word that can describe this...YUM"

Katelyns Amazing Hurricans Post

On the 13th of June me and my family went to the CHIEFS VS HURRICANES game in New Plymouth at Yarrow's Stadium.  We went to get our sets and then Jorja's  family  came and sat with us then Caro's family came and sat with us too then Katelyn Hughes' family came to sit with us then the Siobhan, Aliyah, Tiani, and her Aunty and Uncle came to sit with us then the game started.
The CHIEFS got the first try then they got the conversion so that put them in the led 7-0. Then it was half time the score was 14-13 to the Hurricanes.  The second half of the game the Hurricanes got another try and they got the conversion over so that led the hurricanes to 21-13 and that was the final score.
When I went to the Rugby game the weather was not that good
it was spitting with rain but they still got through the game
but we still got wet.

Megs APS Market Day Recount

Sold Out - Meg's Market Day 2014 Recount
My stomach churned as I stepped foot in the classroom. I eyed up the work that need to be done and felt lightheaded. I knew standing there wouldn’t help, so I pulled up my sleeves and got head in work.

Dragging those desks on to the deck and seeing everyone else setup made it feel so much more real. As we lay out our product on the desk war broke out over what goes where and what lay out looked best.

“SALE STARTS NOW” announced Mr Chittenden through his bullhorn. Suddenly a swarm of children came barreling towards us. Coin after coin, Note after note, we were quickly making quite a large profit. After twenty minutes we were sold out and exhausted!

In the end we were all so proud of the product we had put forward to the community and each other. We made around two hundred dollars. Drinking jars are a hit!!!

Recently we held our School Market Day to celebrate the end of our AKO (inquiry) for Term Two and Three, as regular followers of this blog will know. Each of the students wrote a recount about the significant event. This was authored by Meg from Room One.
