Auroa Primary School - Taranaki Y7/8 League Report

Today Auroa Primary School were able to celebrate the students who played in the combined Rahotu, Manaia, Opunake and Auroa Schools Y7/8 League Team who won the Taranaki Intermediate Schools competition.

The team beat Devon Intermediate in the first game, before defeating Francis Douglas and Hawera Intermediate.  In the semi finals the combined Auroa/Rahotu/Manaia and Opunake team defeated Bell Block, before facing Hawera Intermediate School again in the final.  For the second time in the competition the combined team defeated Hawera Intermediate making themselves the 2014 Champions.  The school is thrilled with their efforts and of all the schools and boys involved.  We are looking to post some images from this special occasion.  Well done to Luke, Jack and Riley P.  You can read Luke and Jacks recounts here, or visit Riley P page and read his recount about the final here.

This is a the best bits of highlights from the Coastal Y5/6 Rugby League Competition against St Josephs Opunake, Manaia and Opunake Primary Schools held on Wednesday 3rd April 2014 at Opunake. Auroa Primary School Connecting with Opunake and Australia

This week in class we're going to be connecting with two schools in quite different locations.

Firstly on  Friday afternoon we held our first ever Mystery Skype Call for Room One.  We had assembly but Meg and Aylssa did a fantastic job and it turned out we were talking to our new friends from Mrs T. and 6RC.  They're based in Sydney, Australia.  After our chat we received comments from most of the class so we were thrilled to make the connection.  Their fantastic blog is linked here.

Secondly we were very excited on Friday to find there are some other local schools that are also blogging and producing wonderful work.   Our friends at Opunake Primary School are blogging online throughout their school.  We're particularly liking the work from Room One (Y7/8 class), Room 14 and  Room 15 you can click on all the wonderful blogs here.
