MOA Highlights - Mrs Derbyshires Amazing Work

Later this year we have one of our major events the 2018 MOA Awards. These awards are held every two years and are a major event for our cluster of four schools. We have started looking at some examples of work from previous awards. These fantastic amazing videos are from Mrs Derbyshire who used to teach at Auroa Primary School. If you look very closely at some of this fantastic work you might well see some famous faces of students who are currently in Room Six!

Auroa Primary School - House Tokens for Photos: Rm 8

While its the holidays in New Zealand, and our students will be returning to school shortly with our first day back being Monday 5th May, in the meantime there are some tasks to complete. A number of you have continued to post regularly on your blogs, we've had some of the school robotics team have meetings in the holidays preparing for the regional later this term.

Today I also located this amazing post from Miss Nicholas offering house tokens for students who are able to complete it and what a great idea that it is. All the instructions are there but you are required to send a photograph of your holiday to Miss Nicholas. If you're reading this post from overseas and are on holiday or its the weekend why not send a photo to Miss Nicholas of your school or what you've been up too - she'd love to receive it.

Room One Auroa Primary School - Helping Out Room 8

Room Eight have just started a project involving digital photography with the rewards of house tokens for those students who complete the tasks.  There are two parts here were students from Room One could help out.

Read Miss Nicholas' post: what is the learning intention for this task? What is she asking to be completed? What material do you need to produce? What is the focus of the task?  Room Eight are very lucky because they have already had material posted on their page from another school.  You can click on that link here.   You can also read the original post and request here.

This post here is the one encouraging students to complete the task.  It has a detailed explanation about what is required including the Mathematics behind the task.   Remember Miss Nicholas is a creative person so the more interesting that your photographs and posts would be the more likely that she is going to like it and publish it on your blog.

Secondly she is looking for classes from anywhere to complete the task.  Who have we networked with online who might complete this task? What information would you need to give to them? How can you make sure if you complete the task that you will get the recognition that you deserve?  Assembly is this Friday which dosen't give you long to meet the deadline, however the criteria are very straight forward.,
