R3 Lamb and Calf Day is coming for 2016

Its the second week of the New Zealand School holidays - and we've some huge events coming up Term Four - first week back on Thursday we have our biggest day of the School year, our annual Calf and Lamb Day. We have students who have been raising Lambs and Calves for this event and the judging competition. This video below, created by Mr Bloor is the highlights from 2014 and shows our Lamb and Calf Day that year.

We've also had some fantastic students working on their student blogs during the holidays.  If you want to see information about students preparing for Lamb and Calf Day you can click on the link to Jorja's Blog here.  If you didn't see Regans post about preparing for Lamb and Calf Day click on the link here.  Sophie's continued to post amazing things on her student blog about preparing for Lamb and Calf Day - you can click on the link to her blog here.

  1. Hello Mr. Webb--
Our Texas classroom is excited to learn about your Calf and Lamb Day! We'll be visiting your students' blogs this week, and we'll be able to leave comments for those students who have "Name/URL" as an option in the drop down menu of the comment box. Unfortunately, none of the other options match what we use for school accounts.

Here's to another fun year of exchanging visits with y'all!

That is awesome! Can't wait to hear from you and your students, everyone should have that setting on their student blogs, but I will make sure that they do. So great to hear from you.

  3. Good morning Mr Webb! It's 10:37 in the morning here and I am with a spectacular class of Year 5 pupils in Liverpool in the UK. We have just watched you video about your lamb and calf day on your blog. We think it is really cool that you have this even and look after the animals like you do. It's very different to what we do here.

We will be coming back again to leave some comments for your pupils.

    Bye for now.

  6. Hi Mr. Webb!
I am Katey from Mrs. Kriese's class in Texas- a part of #16stubc. I find it very interesting that you have Calf and Lamb day! Do most people bring calfs or lambs? Y'all must live by a farm or on farm land! How many more weeks until Summer for you and your students? We have around 8 months! It's a lot! I wish that we had only a couple weeks left! Come visit my blog at edublogs.eanesisd.net/katherine8482022/. I can not wait to read what y'all have to say about life in New Zealand!

  8. Hi! My name is Harper I am from Mrs.Kriese's class in Texas. At my ranch we just got two calfs but sadly I'm not allowed top take them to school. But sometimes we do get to wear funny costumes if it's a special day.

  10. I really love animals too! I liked all of the pictures and videos of the animals. One thing that you can do is maybe explain what you're doing a little better. About how many animals usually come every year? -Sahana

  11. Hello Mr Webb, I'm Dina from Merrydale Juniors(in the UK) and I would love to have calves and lambs in our school. Unfortunately, we cannot bring calves into our school because that would be very awkward! I've got one question and it is,what is your favourite animal?
