Hello, thank you for commenting on our blog. We are looking at your blog today and wondering why you are wearing thongs or no shoes? Was it a special day or are you allowed to wear thongs every day? We are not allowed to wear thongs at school. We watched the video of you playing netball. We have netball teams at our school too. Are you having a fun day? Mrs Gardner and GO Reception.
Wow, we didn't know that you don't use the same word as us for 'thongs'. Here in Australia 'thongs' are rubber shoes with two straps that meet between your toes. We are not allowed to wear them at school, and we must keep our shoes on all day at school, unless there are special activities (eg. swimming lessons, sandpit, art - eg painting with our feet!). We have two Japanese students in our class. They tell us that in Japan students don't wear shoes inside either. We have learnt a lot chatting with you today! Thank you.
We loved the communication and the connection today - thanks for the comments on Caro's Blog, thanks for the comments on our blog - a great connection.

We had a great discussion about 'Thongs' in our classroom this afternoon and we've never heard 'jandals' called that!
