Mt SPA Cluster: Academic Day 2014
Today at Opunake Primary School the Mt Spa local cluster held their annual Academic Day where the local schools competed in a variety of competitions: spelling, mathematics, literacy and general knowledge.
The Auroa Primary School team consisted of Tahana, Emily, Isabelle, Thomas, Tom, Meg and Michael.
In Literacy Auroa were able to tie in first equal place with both Kaponga and Opunake. In general knowledge Auroa were runners up to Manaia Primary School. Auroa were also runners up in Mathematics to Manaia. No surprise that the winners of Academic Day for 2014 were Manaia Primary School, with Auroa claiming second place.

DeleteWe were pleased to be the runners up, which was an improvement from the year before, but we just couldn't tip over the top team so we were a little frustrated by that, all in all however we did our best.

Wow you competition sounds like a lot of fun! I would really like to try something like this one time. I don't know if I can get other schools to join but maybe I can do it in my classroom. I would say my favorite school competitive activity is spelling. It isn't WAY too hard but it is just right. Who came up with this idea? Is it a tradition? Awesome job on second place! It sounds hard! I hope to hear more from your blog!

DeleteThanks so much for your comment - it was a lot of fun, we had an opportunity to compete against all the other local schools in academic roles which was fun, however the spelling was a bit random apparently, and there were some really difficult words. Great job with your blog its really worth checking out and love the recount about Toldeo.
