Edison Robot Sumo Wars

This week in class used the Edison Robot to create Robots with the class Lego to do Battle with each other. Because we used the 'Sumo' settings on the Edison Robot we were able to construct and battle the robots with half an hour of starting the task. These videos show some of the epic confrontations!

'Sun Bear' Digital Photography

The last task of Term Two was for the students of Room Three of Auroa Primary School to take one of the class mascots and take a series of photographs around School. The twist was the students had forty minutes from start to finish to complete the task and the publishing! Thanks for your visit - we are currently on our school holiday break and will be back in the classroom in a week and half. The bear was a gift for us from a class in Siberia, Russia.

R3 - Ice Skating at the Hub

On Thursday the Y5 students from Auroa Primary School had a special event - an opportunity to go Ice Skating at the Hub in Hawerea. The students were very excited at a new experience for nearly everyone in the classroom. We had an hour on the ice and loved the experience, we were also very lucky to have a special guest with us on this trip, Mr Bloor who brought with him his equipment and was able to record the experience and produce this video

School Kit - Moostery Skype!

Today we took part in the School Kit Mystery Skype Competition - the game of Moostery! It paired our rural school in South Taranaki with a mystery city school from an urban location somewhere in New Zealand. We were defeated as our opponents, Milford Primary School were able to locate us a lot quicker than we could find them. They asked us an amazing question about State Highway One and if we were on the West Side of it! We spent the rest of the Skype Session talking about the differences between our school, they are able to walk to a local shopping centre in ten minutes and our nearest shopping centre is an hours drive away! They asked us lots of questions about farming and cows and how our life is different from them, it was an amazing experience. We shared our video from last years Lamb and Calf Day which is a huge even here each year at Auroa Primary School. Thank you Mrs Boyd and students from Milford Primary School we loved the connection and thank you #Schoolkit for setting it all up!
