This term we are completing a unit of work, our AKO or investigation, around Rats and Rodents we are looking at rats, rodents and whether there might be any around Room Three and Auroa Primary School. This is where you can help us - have you had any experiences in your school or area with rodents? what does your school do to prevent them from appearing? If you could leave us a comment with the answer on this post we would really appreciate it.
Hello Room Three from Twizel Area School. This autumn we have had more mice around the school than usual. We have traps in safe places in the senior classrooms that the care-taker checks before school. Several times last term we had a wee mouse dart accross my classroom during class time. The Y13 students named it "Bruce." We haven't seen "Bruce" this term - the seniors are hoping he has gone back to live outside.
ReplyDeleteLong life, Bruce !

I leave bait around in areas that are not accessible to students such as our office area and that has stopped our annual visitors. They are available in packets the size of chewing gum packets approxmiately.
ReplyDeleteHello friends from New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteWe want to answer your questions about rodents.
At the Brindas School, we are not really bothered by these animals. But in our classroom, we have got very invasive visitors: the ants !
If you want to show the main rodents around us, click on the links below (texts in French and in English) :
